Julie Brown DC, DACNB, FABBIR has 19 years’ experience. Her passion for health care began as a child when she took part in gymnastics, an activity where keeping a healthy lifestyle was crucial. Growing up she had parents with health issues which further inspired her to pursue a career helping patients live healthier lives.
During her undergraduate education at University of Washington, she worked as a Massage Therapist. Dr. Chris Barney, DC offered her a job in his Chiropractic office and later he provided career guidance.
She was inspired to graduate from Southern California University of Health Sciences with a D.C., Magna Cum Laude honor. Dr. Brown continued her education with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Neuroscience Degree from Carrick College focusing on the topic of concussions and fatty acid profiles.
Dr. Brown is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist and a Fellow of the American College of Functional Neurology in Traumatic Brain Injury. She achieved these qualifications through her studies with the Carrick Institute and by attending grand rounds with Dr. Ted Carrick DC, who is a leader in Concussion therapy and rehabilitation.
Dr. Stephanie M Barbakoff, DC, DACNB Related Seminars and Products

Dr. Barbakoff is a board-certified Doctor of Chiropractic and a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB). Originally from New York, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Cum Laude from the State University of New York Farmingdale. With a strong interest in health science, she began exploring different avenues to work with patients in a healthcare setting. She worked in offices of Osteopathy, Obstetrics, and Chiropractic before deciding on holistic health care.
She attended Life Chiropractic College West where she earned a Doctorate, graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors. During her time there, she founded a women’s softball team, the school’s first Sports Council, and led several clubs, including Functional Neurology and the League of Chiropractic Women. She has completed her postdoctoral neurology training through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies. She currently serves as the Vice President of the California Chiropractic Association’s San Diego chapter.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- Requests for refunds must be emailed to Shasta Carey, CalChiro's Director of Continuing Education at scarey@calchiro.org.
- Registrants may substitute another person for the same Sports Symposium registration at no additional cost if the substitute is the same registration type of equal value.
- Cancellations until February 28, 2026 are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations between March 1 - March 31, 2026 are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations after March 31, 2026 are non-refundable.
Photo & Video Release
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, CalChiro meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videos, electronic reproductions, social media and audiotapes of such events and activities by CalChiro and other third parties, including but not limited to the venue, sponsors, and destination organizations (i.e. CVBs). Your registration may include technology that monitors your activities throughout the meeting, such as session attendance.
