In the foot, structure dictates function more than anywhere else in the body. This session introduces the principles of MASS Posture Theory—a physics-based model that explains how functional foot posture influences motion, load distribution, and long-term tissue health. Attendees will learn how calibrated, full-contact orthotic therapy restores the foot’s natural spring mechanism, supports optimal supination, and improves mechanical efficiency throughout the gait cycle. Dr. Glaser demonstrates how this corrective approach reestablishes functional posture, decreases pathological stress on the foot and ankle, and enhances overall lower-extremity function. This presentation bridges the science of posture-based biomechanics with practical clinical application, providing a clear, reproducible framework for improving outcomes through both conservative and pre- and post-surgical care.

Sole Supports CEO and founder, Edward S. Glaser, DPM, is a podiatrist and foot biomechanist, and the mind behind the MASS Posture Theory of foot biomechanics.
With a career spanning 40 years, Dr. Glaser has earned an international reputation for completely reimagining foot orthotics and the way practitioners address biomechanics in the foot, lower extremity, and ultimately, the entire body. Dr. Glaser’s MASS Posture Theory of foot biomechanics offers a unique, engineering-based approach to foot biomechanics that sets Sole Supports’ custom orthotics apart. His groundbreaking research has been published in multiple medical journals, including the Foot and Ankle Online Journal, and is taught at dozens of podiatry and chiropractic colleges across the country. Dr. Glaser is also a professional speaker, having lectured at over 1,500 medical conferences and institutions worldwide.
Dr. Glaser's professional journey began at SUNY Stony Brook, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in biology with a strong concentration in mechanical engineering. He later went on to earn his doctorate in podiatry from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. After 13 years leading a successful clinical practice in Middle Tennessee, he made the bold decision to step away and challenge conventional orthopedics with the development of MASS Posture Theory. Thirty years and well over a million pairs of orthotics later, Dr. Glaser continues to realize his life's mission through Sole Supports, the custom orthotics lab he founded in 1992.
